vast and wide
here before land and life
silently annihilated
waste killing millions of inocent bystanders
who harm neither your nor I
who has bequeathed humanity the right
to condemn them too die
I want my sons to witness dolphins and whales
a reminder of humanities size
I would like to witness the same look of bewilderment
in the next generations eyes
we, are mutilating the planet
with our gluttony and disrespect
the upwelling in the spring reveals
remnants of plastics in the sediment
it will not get better. it will only get worse
but prevention make keep the damage
from ultimately crucifying our mother earth
the ocean and it’s beauty
the glorious life beneath
the warmth of the sun as the water cools your feet
will be doomed because of the way that mankind mistreats
