Dear Otter Nation,
The Otter Realm staff and I hope that you enjoyed the first edition of the
semester. We were really pleased with the way it turned out. The first edition of
the semester is always questionable, due to their being a new and inexperienced
staff. However, if the first edition is a sign of what to expect for the rest of the
semester then I think we will be seeing a lot more first-class papers.
Not only is the Otter Realm a bi-weekly paper, but we can also be found
online with late breaking news and up to date articles at otterrealm.net. We are
in the process of updating the website and are interested in what you as a reader
would like to see on it. If you have any recommendations or requests feel free
to send us an e-mail at otterrealmeditors.csumb.edu.
This semester we have decided to add to the paper a photo of the issue. This
new edition will consist of photos from the student body at CSU Monterey Bay.
Were asking for any photos that you as a student have taken anywhere around
Monterey County. For example, if you were at Del Monte Beach and captured
an awesome sunset and would like to have it published and printed in the Otter
Realm then send your picture to otterrealmeditors.csumb.edu. The editors of
the paper will choose a picture to be printed on every paper and then eventually
put up on our website. This is a great opportunity for students to get their
photographs published in a local paper and World Wide Web.
The Otter Realm and I look forward to reading your e-mails on the
recommendations that you would like to see on the website or newspaper and
to viewing your pictures.
Sincerely, Ricky Welshiemer, Assistant News Editor
