CSU Monterey Bay University (CSUMB) Police Department (UPD) informed the campus community Feb. 26 that the investigation regarding the strong-arm robbery on Feb. 19, will continue.

While UPD still refuses to comment on details concerning any suspects they may have, if any, they will be posting a notice that states, “To date, it does not appear that this incident was a ‘random’ occurrence.  The victim was likely targeted because of drug related activity.”

CSUMB freshman students, Brittany Wilson and Talei Maravon both agreed that while the notice does make them feel better, they still feel safer knowing that they live in third floor dorms.

CSUMB sophomores, Shanthe Mandrayar and Raychel Jones expressed feeling better knowing the incident was not random although Jones’ stated, “ Just because it was not random still doesn’t mean it was right.”

UPD still strongly encourages anyone with any information to call UPD at 831-655-0268 or the UPD Anonymous Tip Line at 831-582-4747.
